Le terme Hevongaard, dans l’ancienne langue de Vaar, provient de l’union des mots “vent” (hevo) et “chant” (gaard). Le commun du peuple l’utilisait généralement pour faire référence au bruissement que fait le vent en voletant dans le feuillage des arbres ou encore le cri sourd que celui-ci laisse échapper lorsqu’il sillonne les landes et les vallons.

Cet album est dédié à la prochaine génération. Puissent ces mélodies vous accompagner lors de nombreuses aventures, et, qui sait, vivre dans les chants humains encore longtemps...

The term Hevongaard, in the ancient tongue of Vaar, comes from the union of the words ''wind'' (hevo) and ''chant'' (gaard). The common folk generally used it to refer to the whir the gale makes passing through foliage, or the soft wail it leaves cutting across moors and valleys.

This album is dedicated to the next generation. May these melodies travel with you along many adventures, and, maybe, live into human chants for a long long time...

Dans Paysages Polaires, Cantique Lépreux reste fidèle à leur style à quelques exceptions près, à savoir un black metal atmosphérique glacial dont la vitesse est assez intense. En fait, cet album sert à polir, sublimer leur style. La production baisse un peu le volume de la guitare, met plus en avant le chant et la batterie — et elle est géniale : écoutez "Les étoiles endeuillées" et "Hélas...".
